Local Nonprofit Is Among The First Triangle-Based Organizations To Receive A Grant From The Leon Levine Foundation
RALEIGH, N.C. – Triangle Family Services, an 80-year-old nonprofit dedicated to building a stronger community by strengthening the family, has received a $100,000 matching grant from The Leon Levine Foundation.
Beginning Tuesday, Nov. 28, the foundation will match contributions from new and lapsed donors who are contributing funds to Triangle Family Services’ Band Together fundraising efforts. The Leon Levine Foundation, started by Family Dollar founder Leon Levine and his wife Sandra, will match qualifying donations up to $100,000 through the main Band Together event in 2018.
Triangle Family Services is Band Together’s 2018 nonprofit partner. During this fundraising year, the two organizations are working to raise more than $1 million toward developing sustainable solutions for multi-generational mental health provision. This grant from The Leon Levine Foundation will help make it possible for Triangle Family Services to expand the mental health services that they can provide to the Triangle community.
“It is truly an honor to be among the the first Triangle recipients of a Leon Levine Foundation grant,” said Alice Lutz, CEO. “With their support, we will be able to support more families and indivduals in need of mental health services throughout the Triangle. We have a growing mental health crisis in our community and it is more important than ever that we all band together to address this challenge.”
“Triangle Family Services’ unique approach to strengthening families by providing wrap-around services in the areas of mental health, family safety and financial support is a valuable resource for the Triangle community,” said Tom Lawrence, executive director of The Leon Levine Foundation. “We are proud to support TFS and its efforts to expand mental health services to those in need.”
