Lutheran Services Carolinas announces SearStone grant awards

 

(Salisbury, NC) – The SearStone/Lutheran Services Carolinas Community Benefit Committee has announced Wake County area grant awards of $290,500, benefiting 12 organizations. The awards bring the total for calendar year 2017 to more than half a million dollars.

Award recipients include the following: Transitions LifeCare, Raleigh, $60,000; Meals on Wheels Wake County, Raleigh, $55,000; Habitat for Humanity of Wake County, Raleigh, $40,000; Caring Community Foundation, Cary, $35,000;  Triangle Family Services, Raleigh, $25,000; Women’s Center of Wake County, Inc., Raleigh, $17,000; Pretty in Pink Foundation, Raleigh, $15,000; Note in the Pocket, Raleigh, $10,000; Shepherd’s Table, Raleigh, $10,000; Triangle Aphasia Project, Unlimited, Cary, $10,000; Temple Baptist Church, Raleigh, $7,500; Rebuilding Together of the Triangle, Garner, $6,000.

Lutheran Services Carolinas, based in Salisbury, N.C., is a nonprofit health and human services organization serving seniors in North Carolina as well as children and families across North and South Carolina. SearStone is a nonprofit retirement community in Cary. Together, LSC and SearStone work to improve the lives of Wake County citizens by directing a portion of SearStone revenues to benefit area nonprofit organizations serving seniors, indigent seniors, or other vulnerable populations.
