Levine Challenge Grant Match Achieved

Triangle Family Services (TFS) has raised $100,000 to successfully reach a fundraising challenge set by The Leon Levine Foundation of Charlotte, which will now award a 1:1 match to the agency.

The challenge grant, issued a year ago, is part of the collaboration between TFS and its partner for 2018, Band Together, to raise a million dollars to impact mental-health services in the Triangle. The funds raised from the match – in addition to the $100,000 grant from The Leon Levine Foundation – will enable 600 individuals to access vital TFS programs that address mental-health needs.”

“We are delighted that Triangle Family Services has successfully met the goal for this matching grant,” said Tom Lawrence, executive director of The Leon Levine Foundation. “The agency’s focus on family safety, financial stability, and mental health aligns with our founder’s mission, and we’re excited to see this investment inspire other donors in the Triangle area.”

Alice Lutz, CEO of TFS, commented that the challenge grant was a game-changer during the Band Together partnership year. “We are grateful to The Leon Levine Foundation for wanting to learn more about us and for deciding to make this major investment in what we are doing for mental-health access in our community. The challenge grant helped us appeal to lapsed donors as well as attract new ones who wanted to be part of this landmark year for TFS.”

The culmination of the TFS/Band Together partnership will be June 23 when Walk the Moon and American Aquarium perform at Red Hat Amphitheater in downtown Raleigh. For info, visit www.tfsnc.org.
