Skills & Tools for Emotion and Anger Regulation
New pilot program
Everyone gets angry. What matters is what happens next. S.T.E.A.R. is a one-day, four-hour course that helps you recognize your emotional triggers, manage your responses, and handle conflict in healthier ways, with real skills you can put to use right away.
Register: Call 919.821.0790 x150
The course runs as four one-hour segments in a single day:
S.T.E.A.R. is open to adults 18 and older, whether you’ve been referred by a court, Social Services, CPS or another agency, or you’re signing up on your own. It’s designed for people working on anger or emotion regulation in any relationship: with family, coworkers, neighbors or others.
| Format | One day · four 1-hour segments (4 hours total) |

The course fee is $50. Reduced fees are available based on financial need. Cost should never be the reason someone can’t get help. Ask about it when you register.
S.T.E.A.R. is a standalone course for an isolated anger or emotion-regulation concern. It is not a Domestic Violence Intervention Program and does not replace DOSE when a case involves a pattern of intimate-partner abuse.
Because S.T.E.A.R. is a new pilot, please confirm acceptance requirements with the referring court or with TFS before finalizing an order that names it. Suggested order language:
“[Party] shall complete the S.T.E.A.R. anger-management course through Triangle Family Services (919-821-0790 x150) and provide the completion certificate within ___ days.”
