Individual and Family Counseling and Mental Health Services

As widespread as mental health issues are, they are frequently misunderstood and mistreated, affecting both personal and professional responsibilities. Triangle Family Services’ licensed, specially trained staff members provide outpatient therapy treatment to families in the Triangle.

Services

Counseling: Licensed clinicians provide a comprehensive approach to therapy that ensures each client receives the most effective treatment possible.

Non-Offending Caregiver Support Group: Clinicians facilitate a free, open group called PREP (Preventing, Responding, Educating and Parenting) to support caregivers whose children are recovering from sexual abuse. Topics covered include coping and communication, misunderstandings and myths, navigating support systems, parenting skills, and prevention. This group meets monthly and is offered in both English and Spanish.

Trauma Informed Care: A trauma-informed approach to care acknowledges that care teams need to have a complete picture of a patient’s life situation — past and present — in order to provide effective health care services with a healing orientation. Trauma-informed care seeks to realize the widespread impact of trauma and understand paths for recovery and actively avoid re-traumatization.

TFS helps to treat: anxiety, depression, personality disorders, mood disorders, behavioral disorders, adjustment disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

“My therapist helped me during a very dark time in my life. If it hadn’t been for her and her compassion, her kind, non-judgmental counseling, I honestly doubt that I would still be alive today.”
