This year our focus is on mental health and preventing suicide in the most vulnerable of our population – our children, teens and young adults. Did you know nearly 20% of children aged 3-17 have a mental, emotional, developmental, or behavioral disorder (NIH)? Or that young people aged 10-24 account for 15% of suicides (CDC)? Youth suicide is a major public health crisis and there is an urgent need for an integrated network of prevention, support and care from parents, mental health providers, teachers, healthcare professionals and the community at large.
