Wake Up! with TFS

Thursday, September 7, 8:00 – 10:00 AM

North Ridge Country Club

This year our focus is on mental health and preventing suicide in the most vulnerable of our population – our children, teens and young adults. Did you know nearly 20% of children aged 3-17 have a mental, emotional, developmental, or behavioral disorder (NIH)? Or that young people aged 10-24 account for 15% of suicides (CDC)? Youth suicide is a major public health crisis and there is an urgent need for an integrated network of prevention, support and care from parents, mental health providers, teachers, healthcare professionals and the community at large.

We have a panel of esteemed local experts who will help us navigate the topic:

Victor Armstrong, MSW | VP for Health Equity & Engagement, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
Detective Wendy Clark | ACORNS, Raleigh Police Department
Dr. Branson Page, MD, FACEP | Vice President of Operations, Wake Emergency Physicians
Lora Pilcher | Therapist, LGBT Center of Raleigh
Maximilian Shafir, MSW, LCSW | Co-owner and Chief Operations Officer, Therapeutics Inc.
Rick Shrum, MBA, MHA | Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer, WakeMed
